General Rules For All Card Games

The Deck

Deck of Cards

Most card games use a standard deck, which consists of 52 cards. The deck consists of four suits, each of which is defined with its own symbol: clubs ♣, spades ♠, tambourines ♦, hearts ♥. And also consists of thirteen cards in each suit: ace (senior card), lady, jack, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 (junior card).

There are other decks that contain less than 52 cards. Usually, such decks are made by removing certain cards from the deck. For example, in a deck of 36 cards, all cards from two to six are taken out of the deck, 6 being the junior card. In a 32-card deck, all deuce to deuce to deuce to deuce to deuce, 7 is the youngest. In the deck of 24 cards, all the cards from two to nine are taken, 9 is the junior one.

The opposite is possible with a 53-card deck or a 54-card deck, where one or two jokers are added to the deck. Double decks of 104 cards are possible when two decks are taken and stacked into one.

In order to determine the places at the table, partner, right of delivery, etc. use several ways to draw lots. The most common is when you are offered to draw a card from the deck and depending on the value of the card, the player performs certain actions. If two players have the same value of cards then usually pull again, although in some games if the values of cards are the same then they are determined by the seniority of the suit which is set in this game. If also such way, when the deck is stirred, and then cards are laid out on a table face down and overlapping, then each player takes one card, it is forbidden to take extreme cards of the deck. Depending on the value of cards, players perform predetermined actions.

Alteration of actions

The right to surrender cards, make announcements in the game, the turn of the turn all this in most games is clockwise, that is, from each player to his neighbor on the left side. With some exceptions, in some games the right to surrender passes to the loser.

Each player has the right to shuffle the deck. This right is usually reserved even when a certain player is responsible for shuffling.

Removal of the deck

deck of cards

Removal of the deck means a division of the deck into two parts and moving the bottom part of the deck upwards and the top part of the deck downwards. In the removed part of the deck must be at least 4-5 cards. Usually, the right to remove the deck is given to the player on the right side of the surrender, as the first move belongs to the player on the left side of the surrender, but it happens that the player is allowed to remove the left.

Senior player

The older player is the player who sits to the left of the surrender. This player starts the game first.

In almost all games the first card is surrendered to the senior player, the others surrender in a clockwise direction. In different games the number of cards which surrender at one time can be different, therefore it is agreed before the game. It is considered more or less correct to surrender cards one at a time. Cards always surrender with the shirt up.

If the cards have been wrongly dealt, then at the request of any player, the cards must be resubmitted by the same surrender, unless the rules for surrender have been broken by the surrender or in any other way. After the last card has been dealt, or after viewing the dealt cards, no claim to retake the cards is accepted.

Forgiveness of rules violations

In various games, the rules provide for penalties for violations and limits in which violations can be corrected without change. The rules usually have a period of time during which the validity of the error statement and the right to punishment are maintained. If nothing is done within this time period, then ignoring the error is considered forgiveness.

Error in shuffling, taking off, handing in cards

If a player has the wrong number of cards in his hands, the player must report the error before the cards are mixed, otherwise, the change and the score become void.

Error in declaring, announcing, assigning trumps.

This error takes effect only after the opening of the first move in the draw.

Error when writing down points, in arithmetic calculations.

This error is valid only after an offer has been made and payment has been accepted during the point counting process.

history of cards

Negotiations or trading are subject to the rules of many games. Negotiations are held in a clockwise direction, strictly one by one. Only one appointment (announcement) is made in each queue. Outside conversations during negotiations are not allowed.

The drawing is held strictly one by one. The queue can go either clockwise or counterclockwise, everything depends on the rules of the game you are playing. The draw must take place quietly to allow each player to determine the suit and dignity of the card. Negotiations, cues or hints from outside the game are not permitted. Each player must play to the end without throwing their cards, even if they do not matter in the future game. Cards that come out of the game (rebounds, bribes, demolitions, etc.) cannot be considered and taken until the game is over unless the rules allow it. A violation of the draw is subject to a fine, which corresponds to the preliminary agreement between the players.
